Project Overview

PharmaFlow is a SaaS platform designed to streamline pharmacy operations by managing formulations, prescriptions, and patient workflows in a single system. It enables healthcare professionals to efficiently browse and manage compounded formulations, access detailed product information, and ensure compliance with storage and shipping requirements.

My Role

I designed the catalog interface for a SaaS-based pharmacy platform, focusing on information architecture, data visualization, and usability. My role involved structuring complex data into a clear, scannable layout and defining interaction patterns for filtering, sorting, and browsing.

Challenge

The platform needed to present a large volume of medical formulations with multiple attributes such as category, composition, storage conditions, and pricing. The challenge was to make this data easy to scan, compare, and filter without overwhelming users or compromising clarity.

Process

I began by identifying key user tasks such as searching, filtering, and comparing formulations. Based on this, I structured the layout into two primary zones - filters and results. I prioritised scannability by defining clear column hierarchies and grouping related information, while ensuring consistency across data rows.

Key Design Decisions

A table-based layout was used to support quick comparison across multiple attributes. Filters were placed on the left for easy access and persistence, while search and sort controls were positioned at the top for quick refinement. Visual tags and icons were introduced to highlight critical information like temperature and shipping conditions, reducing the need for dense text.

Outcome

The final design enables users to efficiently browse, filter, and compare complex product data within a clean and structured interface. The experience reduces cognitive load, improves data visibility, and supports faster decision-making within a data-heavy SaaS environment.
